Share
Danaus chrysippus Female by kadavoor

At the beginning of the summer, she begins his long journey to stay in Lampedusa and for that reason she goes by sea, you may be lucky enough to meet her while she flying by the water in the direction of the coast, or while rest on your boat. She is so small but she flyes on the Sicilian Channel to reach our coasts. The species described for the first time by Linnaeus in 1758 carries out important ecological functions in our island. A 2008 study showed that this beautiful butterfly is closely related to Caralluma europaea.
